Poetry Month: Writer’s Digest PAD challenge, Day 21: What you are and/or what you are not poem

It does not fail to entertain
-That look upon their faces.
When they learn
I am gypsy, dreamer, hippie born
Bred and, raised.
The green of flowers
Etched into bones
Breathed in and out again.
My breath held close, and closed.
Dirt on my feet that
Pat the earth to its deep beat.
Eyes led across the sky
By stars east to west.
Wheels roll me across the miles,
so many homes, so many schools
so many paths down long roads, away
And away, away again.

It never fails to entertain –
That look in their eyes.
When they learn,
This Jesus lovin, homeschooling, mama bear
Was gypsy, dreamer, hippie born.
