Poetry Month: Writer’s Digest PAD challenge, Day 17: a swing poem

Swing for the stars
I jump aboard
Ready to fly
I fling myself forward
Abandoned of why
My body a ballast
Bounding back at the breeze.
My legs keep pushing
past the point of the play
I toss my head back
Expose my neck to the sky and
Watch all the birds circle higher than I.
